Convoy PQ-17
Historical Series
(2004)
This thrilling adventure series with documentary precision retells the tragic story of the crews of the sea convoy PQ – 17, which was formed by the allies and left Iceland for Murmansk on the 27th June 1942. The convoy sailed across North Atlantic struggling against cold winds, stormy seas and deadly attacks of German U-boats and bombers. The German battleship Tirpitz was the main threat. A mere appearance of the battleship in the vicinity forced the British command to order military vessels to retreat and freight vessels to scatter in the hope of staying unnoticed.
The film follows the heroic deeds of the crew of the submarine – 21, which ended the legend of the invincibility of the German sailing fortress battleship Tirpitz.
The film is made using cutting-edge technologies which help recreate the now-distant past.
